Avolites Product Support Policy​

Avolites has always believed in fully supporting our customers as far as practically possible and ensuring our products have as long a life as possible.  ​

We understand the dependence our customers and users have on our products to keep working year after year, with relevant upgrades both hardware and software being available.​

The following sets out our general policy on our support over the life span of our products. If you are not clear on any part of the policy or what it means for your Avolites product, please contact us directly.

Avolites Product Support Policy comes into effect on 31st December 2021.

The products that are immediately affected by the activation of this policy include:

Why are we introducing a Product Support Policy?

  • As with all technical based products, there is a natural life span of our products, which when it is reached it means it does not make practical or economic sense to repair or upgrade further. ​
  • At present, we have some products like our classic consoles, that have been out of production for more than 15 years. Supporting them with hardware and software upgrades is becoming increasingly difficult and, in some cases, now not possible.
  • Therefore, we have decided to introduce a Product Support Policy across all our products, this will become active from 31st December 2021. Our aim in making the policy, was to be clear and straight-forward in determining if we still support a product after production has ended.

What is the Product Support Guarantee?​

  • The 5 year policy begins from the date the product is delivered or the date the warranty is activated. 
  • Avolites aims to give customers and users options to further the life of their product, even beyond the guaranteed 5 years supported date, so they can acquire spares or repair damaged products.  Software support will also be given where possible, however, this is hardware age dependent.
  • After a product has reached the end of production, Avolites guarantees a minimum of 5 years of full product support for both hardware and software, subject to the availability of stock, materials, parts, and hardware compatibility.

 

How do I find out if a product is still supported or not?​

There are two ways to find out if your Avolites Console or Media Server is supported or not:​

  1.  Enter your product serial number into the lookup box (below).
  2.  Look at the product tables (below) of hardware, software versions, upgrade kits.

Please note:

If you have a Classic Console (Diamond, Classic Sapphire, Pearl, Azure) they will no longer be supported after 31st December 2021. For more information click here.

    Frequently Asked Questions for products no longer supported:​

    • Can I still access and download software for my device?

      Yes. Downloads and documentation for your product are still available on our website. www.avolites.com/support

    • Will Avolites continue to offer fixture library updates for my device (Titan & Classic)?​

      Avolites no longer offers a free of charge personality service for R20 files (files required for the Pearl series of consoles), although we provide a no charge service for all our Titan consoles. ​

      There are two possibilities for you to obtain an R20 personality: you can build your own personality file, there are details of the personality file structure in the Operators Manual, and we can offer some limited assistance if you need help; or, we are able to offer a paid for service at a fixed price of £150, which includes two modes, with additional modes at £10 per mode, however if we create the file for you it is on the understanding that the result may be unsatisfactory especially if the fixture has complex functions not supported the Pearl operating system.​

    • Will Avolites continue to provide software licenses for my console (Pre-AvoKey and Classic)?​

      Yes. Avolites will continue to offer software licenses for both pre-AvoKey Titan and Classic consoles. 

    • Is there still somewhere I can go to get spare parts?​

      Spare parts for classic and unsupported Titan consoles are limited. You will need to contact your local Avolites reseller or source parts on the second hand market (eBay).

    • Will the part(s) Avolites provide still offer the normal Avolites warranty?

      Spare parts for no longer supported products will be provided with a 3-month warranty (subject to stock and availability).   

    • Is there anyone who makes motherboards for my classic console?

      It is not possible to source classic console motherboards outside of Avolites. These motherboards are no longer available.   

    • Will Avolites still offer service and repairs for my product that is no longer supported?​

      Avolites will continue to offer servicing and repair for any of the following:

      T1 (20000 and above) & T2 Titan Mobile Quartz Tiger Touch/Tiger Touch Pro/ Tiger Touch II

    • Where can I find the serial number for my Console/Media Server?

      The serial number for your console/media server can be found on the rear of the device. If you are unable to locate the serial number for your device (sticker has been removed or tampered with), you can contact the support team on +44 (0)208 965 8522 or support@avolites.com
