Thank you to everyone who has been involved so far in supporting all of the campaigns to help keep our industry going,

Thanks to you sharing key messages, signing petitions and writing to your local MPs. We need to ensure our industry receives the support it needs to continue, without losing businesses, venues and skilled technicians.

The #WeMakeEvents campaign has now reached RED ALERT. The initiative, started by PLASA, was to bring awareness to the devastating effect Covid has had on our industry. Avolites, along with PLASA, Digico and other major industry professionals are now campaigning for more urgent government support including:

1. Grants made available to businesses in the events supply chain

2. Furlough scheme extended until the industry is back to work

3. Extension of the self-employment scheme, tailored towards the industry

Head to PLASA’s website to access the full social media toolkit, letter templates and campaign videos.

Get Your Voice Heard:

Can you help us to stand with you by telling your story and explain how you’ve been affected in a short video?

Here are four questions that help to tell your story:

Name and job?

How long have you been in the industry?

When did your world stop?

What is your immediate future and what was your 2020 plan?

Once you’ve filmed your video, email it to marketing@avolites.com and we can get your voices heard across our platforms.

Please ensure videos are in a .mp4 or .mov format.

Artists and organisations from across the UK music sector have united behind a campaign drawing attention to the urgent situation performers and venues find themselves in the wake of the Coronavirus.

The #letthemusicplay, the campaign, launched by UK Music, called on the government to offer: ‘A clear conditional timeline for reopening venues without social distancing’, and ‘an immediate comprehensive business and employment support package’, which should include ‘a Government-backed insurance scheme to allow shows to go ahead; an extension of the furlough scheme and help for the self-employed and sole traders to prevent mass redundancies; rent breaks for venues to allow them to reopen.

Visit their website to find out more continuing to support the campaign to ensure grants and loans are accessible across the industry.

NAMM – Write to Your Senators!

US – NAMM have released a template letter and are urging live event professionals to contact their local senators to advance support for live event businesses and professionals in the next, and potentially final, federal COVID-19 relief legislation.

Ensure you contact your local senator before the end of next week to advance this request for the availability of federal relief for the live event industry.

Head to the NAMM website to access the template and other COVID – 19 Relief resources.
